UNWIND UNIT    
 
     

The unwind unit can carry two rolls of film mm 1000 wide, with a maximum roll diameter of 800 mm.  Each expanding shaft has an automatic tension control unit: the input of a few data (diameter of roll, film thickness etc.) allows the system to control brakes automatically so that film unwinds smoothly. Each  roll has a separate end-of-film signal.

The central unit that connects the unwind unit to the sealing unit has two arms that bear the photocell and optional accessories such as the sealing heads for bottom seal

All accessories are on rail so that they  can be moved quite easily.

The main sealing head bears the two sealing bars (electrodes) with cooling side press bar,  and a support that  allows an  easy change of electrodes with various profiles.

On the main control box most regulations are operated on the touch screen. 
The main display includes all functions that  need to be under control while the machine is producing, such as:

  • speed (number of strokes per minute)
  • pre-set number of pieces per batch 
  • number of strokes reached  thus far
  • number of strokes set for this order

(on reaching this quantity the machine stops)

The final part of the line can perform two important operations in line.

1 - When the machine reaches the number of strokes that  was pre-set for  each batch, the 3 pneumatic pincers grab the bags and take them out of the blocking area.  Bags are brought under a punching bridge, that can perform 1 or 2 or 3 hot punches on the top of the batch so that it can be hang for use.

The temperature of the hot punches and their position can be varied according to need.
You can switch on only the punches you want to use, or switch off the unit in case you do not want to have hot punches.

This bar holds the 3 hot punches.  It can be moved according to need.

2 – after passing through the punching unit, the pincers proceed to carry the bags under the pneumatic press of the separating unit. The two stacks are still connected to each other in a few points along the side seal. The press blocks them and then separates them automatically.  The two separated  batches are then placed on two separate conveyors belt that carry them out of the machine. 
The position of the press can be modified so that it holds the bags along the side seal.
The whole unit can be switched off if for any reason you want to separate the stacks manually.

To sum up, the take off unit performs several  steps, as follows:

  • When the number of bags on the blocking unit reaches the quantity you have pre-set for each stack,  the pincers grab the batch (composed of two stacks, each blocked by a hot  point) and the machine immediately re-starts to produce the next batch.
  • In the mean time the pincers proceed to carry the batch  of bags under the hot punching unit, that makes one, two or three holes on the top of each stack.
  • Then the pincers carry the batch under the separating unit.  After the press has separated the two stacks, the pincers release them on two separate conveyor belts that carry them out of the machine, while the pincers go back to the blocking unit and pick up the next batch.

In order to allow the machine to perform at its best,  each step can be regulated by  the instruments of a dedicated control box that includes:

  • on/off switches for each part of the unit;
  • heat regulators for each one of the 6 hot punches;
  • separate timers for hot punching,  separation,  movement of the conveyor belts;
  • an overall speed regulation of the whole cycle;
  • several leds indicating the sequence of the cycle;
  • signal lamps .
